Dr. Nancy Johnson and Dr. Jessie Williams are our surgeons here at The Veterinary Hospital. We perform surgery every weekday, Monday through Friday.
Surgeries are usually performed in the mornings. We ask that you drop your pet off with us in the morning between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM (at 8:30 AM if you wish to speak with the doctor). Because of the general risks inherent to anesthesia, especially for very old, very young, or very ill pets, we will require an examination and, potentially, lab work prior to your pet being anesthetized. During the procedure, your pet will have IV fluids and be monitored closely by our experienced staff. Antibiotics may be necessary before and after.
As soon as your pet is done with his procedure, you will receive a phone call from one of our technicians letting you know how everything went and to confirm a pick up time. Pick ups are usually scheduled some time after 3:30 PM in order to give your pet time to wake up from his anesthesia and to allow our staff to continue monitoring him for a few hours after his procedure is finished.
