Wendy – Receptionist
Wendy joined The Vet Hospital over 7 years ago after originally starting out as a night cleaner for them. She had little animal care knowledge other than owning her own dog, but was able to grow her knowledge thanks to the staff around her over the years. Wendy currently owns a cat named Minnie that she rescued. When she got Minnie, she had little hair due to allergies and poor care. Now she is happy to say that Minnie has gorgeous long hair! In her free time, Wendy loves to garden and read, she always has a book in process. She occasionally will home-stay foreign students learning English. Her last two students were from Saudi Arabia.
Asheley – CVT
Growing up in nearby Junction City, Asheley started at The Vet Hospital by way of a referral from a college friend. While studying business management at Linn-Benton Community College, she realized in her 2nd year that becoming a veterinary technician was a more appealing career for her and she immediately switched majors. Asheley has two cats, Ollie and Kiki and an Aussie mix dog named Ace, with the infectious nickname “Wiggle Butt” or Wiggles. She likes to spend her free time with her daughter, husband and other family and friends.
Sonja – Receptionist
Sonja grew up in Mapleton, Oregon and always had pets while she was young. She was asked to help out with pet care and quickly fell in love with the job and the people at The Vet Hospital. Sonja has two cats named Olympia and Ena who in addition to going outside occasionally, love to run around at 4 in the morning. In her free time, Sonja and her husband try to spend it mostly with their daughter and grandchildren.
Megan – Assistant
Megan is Eugene born and raised. West Eugene to be exact. She knew at a very young age that she loved animals and taking care of them. Although, she originally started school in the human medicine field, she quickly switched to animal care and has never looked back. She has adopted two dogs from Greenhill. Baxter, a TV & movie watching Pug who barks at the “bad guys” on screen and Genevieve, a toy destroying Chihuahua. Megan enjoys her free time with her dogs and family, playing games and watching movies.
Debra – Assistant
Debra grew up in a small community along the Mckenzie River and still lives in the house she was raised in. She’s always had a love of animals due to growing up in the country and always having them around. Debra went to Lane Community College and started vet assistant classes. When she started at The Vet Hospital, she had found her dream job. She has two cats, Harley who is 17 and Pretty who is 8. In her spare time, Debra likes to be with her daughter and 3 smart and beautiful grandchildren.
Dara – CVT
Dara was born in Eugene, but raised and still lives in Junction City. When she was young, she was obsessed with horses and loved all animals. The Vet Hospital was an obvious choice as a place to build her career in animal care. Dara has 2 dogs, a border collie named Cider and an English toy spaniel with 1 eye named Justin. She also has a cat named Renton with only 3 legs and 2 horses named Baby and Cowgirl. In her free time, Debra likes to go camping, hiking and exploring with her husband and 2 boys.
Rae – Receptionist
Rae grew up in Eugene and started working at The Vet Hospital back in 2006. After a few year hiatus living in London, she returned in 2015. Her whole life she has had pets and she really enjoys the opportunity to work at a vet office. She finds the experience enriching and fun, and she loves meeting amazing animals, and their people, too. Rae has a cat named Dalton that she adopted back in 2005, who is named after the Premiere of Ontario. She enjoys cooking and being active in her spare time, as well as being a dance teacher and performer.
Steph – Reception
Steph was born in Eugene and raised in Italy. When she moved back to Eugene, she studied education and was on pace to get a masters in teaching. While she didn’t attend UofO and Pacific University with pet care in mind, she quickly fell in love with the job, as she has always loved animals and grew up with dogs in her home. Steph has a dog-named Violet, as well as 5 kitties who rule the house. In her free time, she likes to be with friends and family, and most notably, watch her son grow and learn. In the spring and summer, you can often find Steph out gardening.
Andria – Practice Manager
Andria grew up in Florence on the Oregon coast and got started in the veterinary field by cleaning kennels at McKnight Veterinary Clinic. A true lover of animals and the vet community, she has done all the “dirty jobs” and worked nearly every position in the practice, working her way up to a CVT and a certified practice manager. Andria has many animals at home including a horse named Sir Maximus and 8 mischievous cats. In her time away from the practice, she works on her farm where they produce eggs with happy hens that live the ultimate chicken lifestyle. If she has more time, you can find her in the barn with the horses or reading a book.
